Method 4. Modify Network and Sharing Settings

  1. Navigate to the Control Panel -> Network & Sharing Center.
  2. Select Change advanced sharing settings on the left.
  3. Expand the Home or work network (Current Profile) and Public network section.
  4. Now disable Network Discovery, File and printer sharing, and Public Folder Sharing options.
  5. Finally, turn on the Password protected sharing option.
